Half a decade after his variety show on ABC ended, Johnny Cash began hosting an annual Christmas special for CBS, bringing a down-home (and frequently more reverent) element to the body of holiday specials made popular by the likes of Andy Williams and Bing Crosby. For his fourth such special, in 1979, Johnny, along with his father, Ray Cash, and older brother Roy, takes us for a visit to his childhood home in Dyess, Arkansas. Johnny and Junes guests include Anne Murray, then at the height of her popularity Tom T. Hall, whom Cash introduces as my very favorite songwriter and Andy Kaufman (yes, that Andy Kaufman). Songs include 1.Opening-Andy Kaufman 2.(Ghost) Riders In The Sky-Johnny Cash 3.Five Feet High And Rising-Johnny Cash 4.You Needed Me-Anne Murray 5.That Christmasey Feeling-Johnny Cash &amp Anne Murray 6.The Ballad Of The Harp Weaver-Johnny Cash 7.Thats Why You Have To Be You-Tom T.
